Oof! I've arrived!
Well I asked for some dreamwidth and dreamwidth complied.
This is a bit of an experiment for me. I dropped away from livejournal in the past several years. Life for me has changed radically. I have a job that takes up most of my time and energy, so while I still spend lots of time online, I do it mostly still in my chunk of work-related universe, which is pretty large.
I'd like to bring this place into my work-related universe.
I work in emerging technologies, and honestly, everything I ever knew about emerging technologies almost entirely arose from my experiences as Ivy Blossom. So the nickname sticks around, but my real life comes with it.
I don't really care anymore about the connection between my real life and my (now ancient) fandom activities. I have tenure. I've written about fandom professionally. I know lots of people who research fandom professionally and don't shy away from the fact that they also participate. I'm tired of pretending this didn't happen for me.
Also: I miss a lot of the people.
In the meantime: I bought a condo, got a cat, I got cancer, recovered, got married (recovered hahaha! no really, still married).
Ready to read and comment and participate again. Excited!

I'm finally not tired anymore, maybe I'll actually have the energy to actually do anything other than work and sleep.
YAY Dreamwidth!
