Thanks for the hints on this one. Ultimately this has demonstrated how completely out of fandom I really am. I mean, I knew I was, but...there's a BNF I've never heard of who's been in fandom for at least a couple of years, there are podcasts peopled by fandom folks I've never heard of. And a massive wank including exactly no one I know! Oi!

Nope, not a clue. I've been out in the no man's land of finishing my master's thesis and haven't been keeping tabs on fandom.
It might be time for the oldbies to come back in and stage an intervention.
Het i think, but mostly revolving around secondary characters. I find it all funny, but that might be because i never lost any money to him. I get the feeling vb likes to poach aging fandoms. Perhaps he tests the waters for conditions conducive to personality-cult formation, and then dives in when they're favorable. From an outsider perspective, Hp seems to have the right stuff, with a lot of energy as the movies end and no real focus for it; vb chose well!

Thanfiction wrote a gen fic about Neville during DH. I read parts of it ages ago but then sort of never got around to finishing it.
Evidently in some circles s/he went on to be a huge name fan - I've seen mention of him/her here and there but never really paid too much attention.
