PICSPAM!

In spite of the fact that it's barely spring and all the trees are still bare, I decided to wander around a bit and take some pictures of the local landscape. These pictures are an effort in a) documenting my latest location, and b) practicing my mad zoom and picture-taking skillz.

Sweet little house on a hill. Streetsville is a small townish place in the middle of a suburb with a population of over half a million (about 700,000 at this point), so a place like this is hardly what you expect to find there. I think this place is so sweet, but I bet it costs half a million.

The folks who own this place had some fun with it; blue trim, yellow gables. Aside from the fact that it's right on the main street (which is not unbusy; it was hard enough taking pictures without cars in them), this house is pretty dreamy. It must be monstrously big, though...every side has more and more sections to it.

How do the rest of you survive without a psychic mere steps from your door?

And, for [livejournal.com profile] treehavn, our local Masonic Lodge. Doesn't it look majestic and mysterious?

Thanks for posting these, they're lovely. I like your little town, and the white wooden house is gorgeous; we don't really have wooden, shingled houses here. We do have a ton of psychics, though - and voodoo practitioners!
Also, I like the cheesy name-plate on the first little house. Reminds me of Patty's Place.

I like my little town too. Though, to be perfectly honest, I'm taking this pictures because it's NOT a little town at all; this is just the nice part of a monstrous, bloated, completely unplanned suburb of Toronto. Our official "downtown" is a MALL. You can't walk across the street from city hall because it's a 6 lane highway. People think I'm suffering for some kind of crime by living here, so I take this pictures to prove that it does have it's nice bits, and I managed to fall into one of them.

Voodoo practitioners, eh? That sounds like fun. Good to see you, btw. Seeing your icon always gives my day a lift. :)
