ff.net, and more about my sister
Sep. 12th, 2002 11:44 amHmmm. *checks date* Interesting how ff.net is down out of respect for 9/11, and yet is still down on 9/12.
I walked my sister home last night, while she was strapped to my three month old nephew. He was crying before we left and was just looking around, being all mellow, all the way home. He likes to look at stuff. So at one point I saw that his hook was disrupting his view, so I shifted it back a bit on his head.
me: There you go, big guy.
him: uh.
me: You're welcome.
my sister: *howls*
So we get to her house, and the doors are locked. Well, duh, she's been gone all day, right? But she didn't bring her keys, because she left the back door open, which is now locked, because her husband locked it a few hours before. Typical. So we sat in the backyard, with my parents dog (I was walking that little psychological case), after my sister begged the use of the neighbour's phone to call her husband to come home from work for a few minutes to let her in. We sat in the dark, and the growing cold, with a mellow little d00d in a swing, waiting for my brother-in-law. Because my sister can't be bothered to carry keys.
God I love my sister. I really do. She's my hero.

The challenge: What follows is ten lines of dialogue. Work as many of these ten lines into one fic as possible, and post the fic to veelainc on or before October 15th. Ideal fics will be between 500 and 1500 words (roughly). All fics submited for this challenge will by archived at veela-inc.net, and on October 15th all submissions will be entered into a a veelainc poll, and the population of veelainc will vote for which are the top three fics. Winners will get, *ahem* special treatment.
The challenge dialogue:
"Can I touch your wand?"
"I just have this thing about toes. And flobberworms. And shrivelfigs. Other than that, I'm perfectly normal. For a centaur."
"That is most definitely not the snitch."
"Just let me get some clothes on, Minerva! For God's sake!"
"Well. That certainly wasn't in Hogwarts: A History."
"Accio a Weasley! Any Weasley!"
"These robes are itchy when you're not wearing anything underneath."
"Goyle, hold me."
"This doesn't look like a wizard's duel to me."
"What are your intentions toward my son?"
Good luck!
