News on the same sex marriage ruling
Jun. 11th, 2003 01:56 amThe court upheld a judge's decision that Canadian law on traditional marriage is unconstitutional and violates gay couples' equality rights on the basis of sexual orientation. Ottawa had challenged that ruling, arguing that marriage is based on the union of a man and a woman, and can't be extended to gay and lesbian couples. [read more]

What's wrong with the world? I get up, I get online...normally there are 48329048324382 people buzzing around doing stuff and I can harass them. But nooo not today. Today no one is online, no one is entertaining me, there is no one for me to annoy up close and in person. I am distraught and disturbed.
Come on, all you lazy folks! You should all be online and available in my direct line of vision!
Right, so what if I got up at 6:30am? Don't you ALL get up that early? Lazy, the lot of you!
Okay, so that might be somewhat unreasonable.

The agenda for the next few days:
Man, getting up at the asscrack of dawn makes a girl hungry. Oh, also: the moment I get my computer back I will post the last chapter of Origins, or, conversely, a random segment that should have belonged to a rewrite of another fic I wrote which was called Haven. I intended to post it...well, earlier, but, you know, lack of technology et al. It's very long and has smoochies in it. And so on and so forth.

The agenda for the next few days:
- Force repair place to give me my computer back. This is very high up on my list of priorities, because without my computer I am lost.
- Buy new running shoes. Avoid running at all costs, as veela boobs are rather sore. Besides, Blossoms don't run, they saunter jauntily in the sunshine.
- Keep
isilya away from moving vehicles.
- Babysit v. cute nephew.
- Go see the Matrix with
isilya and my friend Andrea.
- Go to Guelph Pride Picnic. Yes, you read that right. Guelph Pride Picnic. This is happening on Saturday afternoon, so if anyone (snerk) is in the Guelph-Wellingon/GTA/Tri-city area and wants to join in on the fun and hilarity, let me know and I'll give you times and directions. It should be...extremely odd.
- Attend post pride party with some of my favourite gay men, all of whom (perhaps barring one) have better hair than me.
- Send
isilya shopping with my sister. They have a similar...er...drive and method, shall we say. My sister already loves
isilya and wants to be her. At a party last night:
Sister [to Isilya, within earshot of ME]: So, what do you think of Ivy?
me [to Isilya]: Did she just ask you what you think of me?
Isilya: Yes.
me: While I can hear you?
Isilya: Yes.
me: Typical.
Okay, so that was unrelated to shopping, but I thought it was funny. And disturbing. I managed to not catch Isi's answer to that, which was probably fortunate. - Take
isilya to Toronto. I mean, Guelph is the centre of all things bight and beautiful, but everyone needs to see the SARS-infested capital of the province that just made gay marriage legal. Sure, it might kill her, but sight-seeing is important.
- Eat wild boar pizza. (This is a prediction. We are having dinner at my friend's house in Toronto, and he never fails to provide me with my daily wild boar requirement. "Fortified with Wild Boar.")
- Whine loudly about my complete and utter lack of own computer. I am knocking this message out on coconuts right now. Woe is me.
- Edit like a crazy editing thing.
