A few announcements and things I'd like to mention:

First, happy belated July 4th to those who celebrate it. I'm sorry it's late, but yesterday I was offline all day as I was in Toronto living it up with my friend [livejournal.com profile] complicitthoery. He looks like a French porn star. Just ask [livejournal.com profile] luciusmalfoy.

veela-inc.net, and all related subdomains (including ivy.veela-inc.net and libertineveela-inc.net are now back up and rolling. I have, as far as I know, locked the fanfiction pages, but I have this gut feeling that the lock isn't working. I'm hoping if I wait a few hours it will start working. I am way too optimistic and I know it. If anyone knows how to recreate the java locks I had before, I would not at all mind hearing from you. I could ask [livejournal.com profile] veelawebmaster, but I really don't want to bug her. I will bug someone else instead, which probably isn't better. But anyway, everything's back up.

I got my old computer back, now equipped with OSX, and tonight I will give it to my sister. Because I love her, and I'm that kind of sibling. WAAH!!

I also picked up my ipod yesterday. Holy mother of God this thing is cool. I mean, it really, really is. It's one of the NEW ipods, yes. 10 gig only. I mean, what do I need 15, 20, or 30 gig for? I put all my 300 mp3s on it and it takes up all of 1 gig of space. Somehow I suspect I will never actually max out this thing. But God it's sexy. I'm going to get chicks with this thing, I can feel it.

Apple products want you to name them. I don't know how PC products function, but whenever you get a new apple product it asks you to name it. Your computer, your ipod, and so forth. I know it uses this name to refer to itself and also to identify itself on networks, so it's not just for pretty. My old ibook's name is Hermione, and I named it that before I found the fandom. It just made sense to me; I mean, Hermione's the repository of knowledge and information, isn't she.

I decided to name my new ibook after whoever was my favourite character is OoTP, after Harry and Draco. My ibook is now called Minerva. This makes total sense to me, as my new ibook is hot, sexy, and far more powerful than Hermione. Bring it, Minerva. BRING IT!

So of course when I first hooked up my new ipod it wanted a name too. My ipod does not at present have an HP name. When we walked into the store [livejournal.com profile] complicttheory saw it sitting there behind the counter and he said, "THERE'S STINKY!" I have no idea what he smokes before I get over to his place, honestly. But so my ipod's name is Stinky.

In other news, it is still way too hot for me and Stinky. What we want is a nice cold day so we can go for a long walk together and contemplate the snow. Ourloveissocanadian.

*The Spirit We' by Rachel Sage comes on*

God this song feels like fandom to me, isn't that weird? This is the first song I downloaded specifically because it was cited at the top of a fic I love. So now it reminds me of my early fandom days every time it comes on. I can't hear it as anything but a fandom song. And that's not a bad thing. I mean, I love it.

I'm flipping through Stinky looking for other songs like that, but this might be the only one that doesn't have at least a dual kind of feeling to it.

Except for, of course, 'I think we're alone now,' by Tiffany. I mean, can you GET more H/D than that? I don't think so.

Also, anything by Michelle Branch.

Anyone else have any intractably fandom songs?
