Loving, consenting adults are trying to commit their lives to each other! They're getting married in civil ceremonies that are none of our business, they're getting equal rights! Paying taxes! Buying houses and contributing to the economy! And, God forbid, raising happy, healthy, well-adjusted children. What is this world coming to? Sure, it's okay to watch world leaders murder each other's children in silence, but when the Prime Minister of Canada finally decides to respect the rulings of the high courts and uphold the charter of rights and freedoms for all citizens, it's completely okay for a Catholic bishop to tell him that he's going to burn in hell.
