raisin bran

You know, I'm all for those two scoops, I really am. But what I just had was basically a bowlful of raisins with a few flakes of bran in there for colour. There is such a thing as too many raisins, oddly enough, and for some reason a bowl full of raisins in milk just doesn't really turn my crank.

an evening of fun and frolic

Well, I had starbuckle and annelarissa over last night for eat and drink. Well, we went out for eat, and came home for drink. They are very funny, and after a few drinks I think I managed to talk them both to sleep. I think my favourite line of the evening was,

"Scholastic thinks American children are made of rocks."

But there were many more amusing moments. Of course I was not as lucky as phineasjones, who not only had them for a week but gets to keep them ever so much longer, since they are moving especially to get closer to her. I mean, that's love, no? But I enjoyed what I got.

I have a lot of bugles now too, which is an advantage I had no considered post visit. Mmmm bugles.

UK heat wave

To my friends in the UK who are suffering through the worst heat wave in 350 years: I'd like to point out that this heat is actually penelope_z's fault. She is spending her first summer in London and she is Greek, which should explain it all. That cultural/temperature thing that just spills into other climes and takes over things. I'm sure you'll notice a strange increase in the popularity of feta cheese and goatie (the official name for goat meat, in case you haven't been properly soaked in Greek culture yet, you plebes). Just remember, every time you feel to umcomfortably hot, the mantra you need is: "That darn Penelope Zed! What is she trying to do, turn us all into gay pelican lovers?"

Breathe deeply. That cigarette you're holding? Penelope's. Yeah, she's evil like that. She gets into every crany of your life!

I promised starbuckle that I would write her a Room of Requirement fic. I think the Room of Requirement is crying out to be used in a slash fic, but I can't really work out a way to use it that isn't completely PWP. Not that there's anything wrong with PWP, but I just can't find my way in yet.

So instead I'm writing Extracurricular 4: The Miriam Webster Edition.
