....I just realized that I've never noticed that 'The Toronto Maple Leafs' is grammatically incorrect.
O_O
Hopefully this just proves that I'm Canadian to the core and not that I'm just not very good with grammar.

Date: 2003-02-11 05:27 pm (UTC)But it would sound awful to say the Leaves, wouldn't it? And there wouldn't be the instant name recognition thing :P But the test of being truly Canadian- do you have a t-shirt of the "I Am Canadian" rant Molson ad, and/or recite half of it without prompting?

Date: 2003-02-12 05:35 am (UTC)on a side note, even though i'm a leafs fan by default, where i live right now, the big rivalry is habs/bruins. anyone who smashes the bruins is okay in my book.

Date: 2003-02-11 05:33 pm (UTC)I'm not sure when I realised that it was grammatically incorrect, but it was a while after I started following the team. Fact is, I don't really care, even though in all other circumstances, I would.
*shrug* Call it being Canadian. Call it whatever. But I don't think it matters much ;)
