Oh, my! Wow. These are absolutely amazing illustrations for your stories. I love the Ophelia pick for its bold and balanced drama: it's not so much Ophelia as a cold and suicidal Midsummer Night's Dream fairy, but that seems absolutely perfect, because for (your) Darkest!Ginny (as, of course, also for Shakespeare's Ophelia), the tragedy is most sharply felt in the subversion of her youth and fertility. That's why the cut, dying, lovely flowers are such a deadly enchanting accessory for her suicide. (And you one-up Shakespeare, I suppose, when Ginny's suicide is an impotent failed gesture.)

Anyway, Alice L. has done a beautiful job capturing the numb quality of your Ginny. The illustration of her abjection with Draco is simply heart-stopping. Not heart-breaking (for me, anyway) because Ginny's too detached to cause my heart to ache for her, powerfully affecting nonetheless. The picture begs the question, though, of how Draco could take any interest, let alone pleasure in touching her.

I thought I'd set aside my questions and impressions of your story for today, but this has re-awakened it all and added more.

The first piece is haunting. I can feel how cold it's out there. The hair/flowers are beautiful and her expression is how I imagined it. I'm glad she aged her, as that was the only detail I could not get away from.

The second one is very disturbing. So much so I didn't want to look at it much less comment on it. The look of disinterest is blatant, and makes me squick that Malfoy is doing what he is, even though what Bill did was far worse, and it just is hard to look at that.

The third one is just methodical. The smallness of her dress the details of all the collected flowers, Her sandels. All of it. It's like she's in a trance.

I love them all, but the second one has so much... I dopn't know what to call it... Umph I guess. The fact that we can't see what Draco is doing and the bored expression on her face is priceless.
I am doing Illustrations for a chapter of an original work and I hopw to god they come out this good...
