Ahhh some blasphemous musings. Well, I have this God story going on, I'm working on chapter 2 of it, and it's like, my one true love (after [livejournal.com profile] epicyclical and [livejournal.com profile] bonibaru, of course). I have one character in this story who, no matter what the circumstances, no matter how many times they delete the past and start over, no matter how they revamp his memory, always falls in love with the same person. Every single time. No matter what she looks like, or what she does, or even if she's not a she anymore. You could set your watch by him. He's like one of Pavlov's dogs; automatic, guaranteed reaction. That's got to be, like, the most unconditional of unconditional loves. I figure it would either be really annoying, or really charming.

I'd like to go with charming.

Wah. That character sounds so tragic.

I swear I replied to this comment hours ago and lj ate it.

I hadn't thought that he was tragic, but now that you mention it I guess he kind of might me. Food for thought.

Hmmm, to me, does not sound tragic, unless love is always unrequited, then yes extremely tragic. Sounds like an interesting read though.

I suppose it depends on whether he's requited or not. But if circumstances change that much each time, the one he loves probably doesn't love him back sometimes, and even if it is requited it's still sad because he's bound to that one for all eternity and can't find happiness elsewhere and that makes things unequal, and okay now I need to stop getting myself worked up about this character. ;)

I think that sounds wonderfully charming. I would adore a character like that! That has to be the true definition of a soul mate.

No. Annoying is the charactar who, no matter how many times they erase the past and start again, no matter how much they change him, or his smoking habits, or cooking knowledge, always sets the house on fire, again and again, the same time. You could set a clock by him. That would be annoying. Your charactar would only be annoying if it were a movie, and the person playing the person he falls in love with was ugly. Your charactar probably would be charming.

Btw, don't think you're blasphemous just because you're writing abotu God! My biblical OTP is Jesus/John.

Definately charming.

And for the record, at first glance I read 'God!fic' as 'Gordic'..

I'd go with "awwwwwtheirloveissocuteitsmothersme" but this may just be personal bias.

The "no matter how many times I see you I still love you ... even after 500 years!!" storyline is one of my favourites, but it's gravely underdone. (Which is good, I guess... not beating a dead horse!) I can't wait to read it.
