Today I finished chapter 10 of my manuscript. I has taken me roughly three weeks to finish. Just now, I saved an old copy over the new one.

it could be possible to recover it still, if you go to the "C" drive you will see some text documents called "Rescued Document 1.txt" so it's possible that it could be one of those.

Of course not! That would be too easy. :) It's okay. I'm going to be very zen about this. It was a good chapter, but I feel at this point that I could write it better. In the writing I found some motivations in each of the sections (there are three), and I think when I started writing them I was still being experimental with them. After I lost the document I wrote down what I had liked about each segment, and I think I will just rewrite the whole thing this weekend.

I prefer to see this as a blessing. :)

Eeeeep. Sometimes Word backs up automatically every 5 minutes or so, to a temp file. You might be able to recover it from there . . . Either way, I feel your pain.

That really sucks! And I thought I had it bad when I spent an hour typing once, didn't save and promptly kicked the power strip switch. This is infinitely worse! I wish you luck! Um, and if you don't mind my asking, what is said manuscript you lost? A new fic, or an original story? (Sorry, I'm a bit new to your LJ)

And hey, just wanted you to know that I printed out the first three chapters to bring to my entirely dull daylong temp job today. Mostly I'm just annoyed at myself for only bringing three. Bc it's great and I want to know what happens!!
