Beta Appreciation Day, and how YOU doin'?

bonibaru tells me that today is beta appreciation day. So I'd like to take this time to thank bonibaru for all her her betaing genius. She puts up with more than any human being should be expected to put up with from me, and I am so incredibly thankful for it. I'm not only talking about fics, either. bonibaru also painstakingly edits my manuscript with the sharp eye of the sharp-eyed. She deals with me needing a beta within the next 5 minutes, and she adapted to my remarkable ability to argue over stupid word choices. If any of my fics make any sense at all, it's because bonibaru forced me to include at least something that is chronological and coherent.
Withouthanacandi, joyouschild, novembersnow, and luciusmalfoy, I would be minus a few fics, to say the least. So my thanks to them as well. <333333
The other person I need to always, always thank for such editing services is my dearestsnooks_ranting, someone I love dearly who accepts all of my pages and pages and pages of email about characters and plots as they occur to me, that go something like: "Okay, how about this...." and end 5000 words later. She talks to me regularly over the phone about what I'm up to, and what she's up to, and what we think about it all. Without her I would be lost in the woods. Without her I wouldn't be trying to write seriously, and for that she has my heart.
I think I can safely blame my ganglion on all of these women.

On the subject of editors/betas/ect, I've found myself in such a position recently... my friend's writing a fan fic for a fanzine regarding Ginny and Luna and a summer holidays adventure... he called me (I'm known as the HP Trivia geek) multiple times to check out facts and ask questions, such as "Can Muggles use Portkeys?"... it was so much fun to help him with his fic, I was inspired to start working on my own again... Might actually release part of my novel before Yule. Wheee. Also want to write another parody piece, I'm rather fond of Harry Potter and the Ring of Power and Harry Potter and the Giant 'Laser'.

Not bad, not bad at all. I'm working on a presentation about the saints and magic in the middle ages in conjunction with research for my Founderfic o' DOOM, and applying to study abroad in Scotland next semester, and, over in this corner of the world, all is more or less well. :D
