New York City, here I come!

My ticket to New York City has been bought. Since the American dollar is almost on par with the Canadian dollar, the ticket was substantially less than I anticipated; however, Amtrak doesn't do ISIC discounts, which sucks my ass. But I'm not going to complain; the American dollar gave me the discount I wanted. Wheee! Now I have presents to buy and I have to figure out what on earth I can wear to this new year's event I'm attending. Something nice, something appropriate, something that will help and not hinder the groping...

On discovering that I had bought this ticket my dear mother had a few words of motherly wisdom.

mom: "Would you like me to make you an appointment to get your legs waxed before you go?"
me: "I'm not allowed to wax my legs, remember? I have no pain threshold."
mom: "It's not that bad. Then while you're in New York you would have nothing to worry about."

I'm not sure what my mother thinks I'm going to be doing in New York IN JANUARY that would require my legs being waxed, but at least she's supportive of it, whatever it is. Also, good to know that all people in New York need to worry about is the status of their leg stubble.

I hope you're ready for me, New York. Possibly me minus leg hair.

Word of advice from a veteran waxie.
I have a rather high pain threshold when it come to these sort of things and I find it a bit on the uncomfortable side. So, if you've never been waxed before, this may be a bit of a painful experience. But of course, then you would have nothing to worry about. I know a good leg wax has always eased all *my* troubles :P

Evidently no one informed you that the Avocado is the location for the all-new "Straight Eye for the Queer Girl," and that upon your arrival you will be thrown onto the dining room table and waxed whether you like it or not.

On a trip in the middle of winter, leg waxing is usually the last thing on my mind, priority being placed on silly things like remembering to pack my underwear and toothbrush.

First of all, leg hair will keep you warmer during the winter. It is true. At least for me. Yes indeedy.

Second, if you're going to get them waxed anyway, I'd honestly suggest doing it yourself. It seems to hurt less and you'll also probably end up with fewer ingrown hairs, for whatever reason. Just something I've noticed.

there are two reasons why you need to wax.

1) it's much warmer in new york than in london/guelph/wherever you happen to be at the moment, and you'll be too hot with hairy legs.

2) george bush won't let anyone across the border with leg hair. and in order for me to go home for christmas, he's making me REGROW it, then wax it again to come back down. he told me this in person.

what i wanna know is, is THIS the trip when you're gonna get your sorry ass on the bus and come to the cape? HMMMMMMMM?????

Have a great time in New York! I always wanted to go there, it's so industrial...and about waxing the legs, It's better and faster than shaving or plucking, but !OUCH!
