Happy Holidays!

This is a busy time for me and my family, but I wanted to nip on here and say merry Christmas to those that celebrate it, happy Hanukah to those who celebrate that (you know you're my favourites, don't be shy), and happy holidays to everyone else.

Since it's been raining almost constantly for the past two days we're looking at a green christmas. Though they promise us some snow by tomorrow at the latest, but still. It's the principle of the thing. Ah well, we'll still enjoy ourselves, I expect.

Happy winter time! (I usually wish my students happy winter break... tends to be something EVERYONE celebrates.)

You don't know me, so this is terribly awkward, but I thought it's be rude to friend your journal without saying "hi." I've been lurking about Potterland in general for about four months, and now that I'm on break and LJs are easy to acquire I thought I'd create one.

My name is CJ, and I'm not sure how much I'll write in my own journal that's relevant to fandom, as I'm sure that there are people out there who would pay me not to write fiction, and during school I don't get to read anything that's not sociology. I love reading your journal, especially your grad school adventures, because so often I find myself saying, "hmm... yep, I know what that's like."

So that's my excuse. And it sounds completely stalker-ish. I'm just a socially awkward sociologist, I guess. Oh, bother.
