I am now my nephew's godmother. Is this a legal thing, or are they just trying to get more babysitting hours out of me? ;P

Also, if there are any future neices/nephews, you are supposed to spoil your particular godkid more than the others. You know, send him an extra present at X-mas/birthday, and so on. Preferably wrapped in glittery paper so that the others can see that their sibling's godmummy loves them more than their godmummies!!!

Though, oddly enough, I come from an entirely atheist family. So I wonder what this REALLY means. :) If they die he's mine, I guess. I told them to wait until I have a good job and a house. :)

i think the term is defined by what works best for the parents. :D though i do feel like a part of the mafia now. wheee! basically, he babysits, buys gifts and, if we kick-it, he's got our boy. that's about it. :D

Not a legal thing, but it is a good thing. It means that they are honoring you by thinking you are going to be a great mentor if it ever comes down to that.

Even if it doesn't come down to that, you can still be a great mentor.
