Do you ever have that flash, while looking at the washing machine as it violently tosses your clothing around with two minutes left on the clock, where for a moment you're not entirely sure that you didn't throw your pants into the wash with a) your brand new 60$ earbuds or b) your ipod in the pocket?

I didn't do either of these things, but I had to run back to my room to make sure.

Phew.

Actually, I had a similar experience involving a shirt that CAN NOT be washed without a net bag. Luckily, it was okay.

Alright, normally I don't comment on people's journals if they have no idea who I am, but this is a weird coincidence.

I'm doing laundry at the moment and I just went tearing down the hall to check and make sure that I'm not washing the address of the absolutely fantabulous house my roommates and I are supposed to look at tomorrow evening. Turns out I was. But it was folded up in my jeans and it survived (well, mostly) because I read this and thought, "Oh crap!"

*smiles* I've done that before, with my beloved copy of Harry Potter and the PS, no less. And it sucks cos I did check to see if I didn't accidentally load it into the washing machine cos I had a hazy memory of chucking the book into my laundry basket. Alas, it did get in and I had bits of HP stuck all over. It wasn't easy to clean, I can tell you.

Once I left my chapstick in my pants pocket. Oy vey, that wasn't good. There were oil marks all over the whole load when it came out. Not good at all.

Every time I do laundry, I manage to convince myself that I've left the laundry room key inside the room after leaving it. I've never actually done it, but the paranoia lives on. *shakes head sadly*

That reminds me when, as a kid, my mother got a tube of red lipstick mixed in with the wash. Of my clothes. I didn't have much clothes as a child, and this ruined about half of my wardrobe. Not a happy day.

glad your stuff was safe!

And with the price of those things, I'm glad that you didn't wash it either.
