I was feeling a yen this morning...a yen for fandom and writing fanfiction, and that absolute sort of world I inhabited while in it. I don't know if I can completely express how much fun it was to write fanfiction. I really miss it.

As a way to get closer to that time, I went looking up songs that remind me strongly of writing fanfiction. (Recommendations fully welcomed on that point, btw.) The songs that leap out of at me are 1) pretty much anything by Michelle Branch, 2) Alanis Morissette's Under Rug Swept, 3) Rachel Sage, "The Spirit We", and strangely enough, 4) Charlotte Church singing "The Water is Wide" (I think this is because I was listening to it a lot while writing a series of short fics called Your Darkest Voice (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, if you're curious). In the process of looking up songs I listened to in my fanfiction writing days, I went back and saw a bunch of my own fics, many of which I don't remember at all. I mean, apparently I wrote a fic that contained each of the seven deadly sins. And while Blue Vase remains my personal favourite of the stories I wrote, I quite like Fall on your Knees too, in spite of the utter lack of H/D therein.

It's sort of weird to look back and know you wrote these things, but not quite have the memories that are supposed to go with them.

Well, it was a long time ago. Good times, though.

You were the first HP fic author I ever read. It was...ahm...I forget the title. That H/D trilogy that ended with Merriam Webster.

And in two weeks...it'll all be over. All the speculative fics, all the anticipation, the waiting...the fandom will be changed forever. I'm glad you were a part of it :)

Well hey, thanks! It was lots of fun!

...you think it will really be over? I guess parts of it will be, the parts that were based on the speculation...I'm sort of hoping, for the slash side of fandom, that we get an ending that leaves lots open for the post-hogwarts set, with at least enough questions outstanding that we could keep writing. But that might be asking for too much. :/

Maybe not over...but definitely changed irrevocably.

It's sort of all hitting me just now...these next two weeks are gonna be rough :( Of course we do have two more movies to look forward to, but I wonder...with the books finished, how exciting will a new pic of DanRad looking all poncy be?

I'm still writing fanfiction and I always have two competing responses when I revisit old fanfiction: I wrote that? I wrote that!

It's a pretty weird thing, eh? I didn't really reread that much, I was just going back over my archives. I think rereading might be a bit painful, as I'm now far enough away from it all to notice the inconsistencies and typos (lots and lots of both, I suspect). I can see why some people write stuff, stick it in a drawer for a while, and then come back to it; I could never been that patient.

The typos I can live with. It's the cliched and clumsy writing that has me burying my head in shame. You were working on a graphic novel, yes? Is that still a go?

Oh, I finished the script and handed it off. It's just a matter of the artist in question finding the time to do her part. That could take a long time. :) Thanks for asking, though. That was a really fun process.

I think I've forgotten too much...I'd have to reread all the books again. Not that that would be such an arduous task...

oh, and i don't think it will be over. i, for one, have no intention of stopping until *I* am done. sirius' death didn't stop the sirius/?? shippers. why should book seven stop anyone else? and werewolf!draco (which is what i expect) has serious hotness potential. i'm excited.

I wonder if it will be harder on the gen/het side, since they have always been more interested in predicting things. I've never really noticed that tendency on the slash side.

But who knows!

Awww, I loved all those fics. *is shameless fangirl*

Your Darkest Voice was awesome.

It's always weird coming back to a piece you haven't looked at in a long time, I totally relate. Somewhere between *cringe* and *whoa, that's actually kinda good*, lol.

Hey, since you happen to be around and all nostalgic *g*, what the heck was that follow-up fic to the Cicatrix cycle called? You know, the one you didn't finish that had some intriguing plotline about Pansy returning to stir up trouble in revenge for the whole uterus-removal disaster in Origins. I can't remember and it's bugging me. Also, is that still available online?

Quiescent. :) It's around somewhere, I think. But I only wrote one chapter, as I recall. Maybe I'll go back to it one of these days...

I adore your Ginny beyond all Ginnys, so I'd love to read the end of that one some day. It had so much promise :)

Hahaha, I read all your fics around the time when you wrote them but I never realised 'Seven' was about the seven deadly sins. (Gee, and there were no clues at all! ;) I'm such a moron.

I wish I could explain what I was thinking there, but I have absolutely no recollection of that fic at all. :/ So I was a bit confused too!

oh ivy, you are my favorite fanfiction writer ever. the best one! i wish that you'd someday write more hp fics.. but if you don't feel like it, it's ok, cause you've already written so many lovely stories. i reread them all quite often.
