Anyone doing nanowrimo this year? I am signed up, and I think I am committed. I might get 4 days in and discover that I need to dedicate all my time to work, but I'm going to try to keep my commitment.

How much do you think you need to know about your story to make it through 50K words? I know very little. I guess that's the adventure of it.

Like you had to ask.

I only have a title and two characters and a very basic idea of where I'm going with the stupid thing, which is less than I've ever had before, but I'll work it out as I go along.

Sounds a bit scary, doesn't it? I have no title, three characters and 5 scenes. Hahhaa. We'll manage somehow!

Lately I've felt as though my novel-writing mojo needs a good kick in the pants, so I signed up. I've got a pretty good idea of how the whole story starts, but from there it all goes "and then some stuff happens and there's a car chase!" in my brain, which has me a little worried. I managed to make it to 50K the last time I wrote this off-the-cuff, but MY GOODNESS, the tangents I took.

I'm going to try to be a little more disciplined this year and bang out an outline, so we'll see how that goes. I can totally write up a decent outline by Sunday! *facepalm*

I don't have a subject or characters or anything. But I think I'm going to do it. Plus I'll be going on a vacation for two weeks in the middle of it, and busy as shit - and I'm just going to use my adventures as a source, I think.

I have no idea what I'm doing, but I want to make words into sentences into paragraphs into stories into novels. ;)

Yup, I signed up. I'm using some of Karen Wiesner's forms to flesh out my characters and plot, but then again, I'm also writing a sequel to other NaNo novels, so I know the characters fairly well. Still, all that said, I guarantee that on day three, I will have an OMG! moment about 5,000 words in and realize what's REALLY going on in my novel. And then discover a few days later that I was missing something. LOL

well, if you fail at NaNoWriMo, there's always [livejournal.com profile] wrisomifu ;)

It all depends on your writing style, I guess. Do you usually write by the seat of your pants or do you plan things out in detail? Either way, it should be an interesting experience. The key is not to get too hung up on going back and editing, but to barge forward every day.

I signed up, and promptly lost any time I thought I'd have to plan out plot and characters. I don't think I'm going to win this year, but it'll be a start.

i signed up somewhere between impulsively and having deliberated about it a lot. that is, i hadn't made a decision, just dithered, and then suddenly i was signing up! eek!
